Like all things in life, technology has superseded many old ways of doing things including construction materials.  With new advancements in shingle technology, evolving building codes, and the introduction of more durable and aesthetically pleasing alternatives have helped replace the old 3-tab style.

3-tab shingles are a single layer product resulting in a shorter lifespan compared to multiple layer architectural shingles.  This means 3-tab shingles are more susceptible to wind and weather damage, and deterioration at a quicker pace.  Ultimately, this means a homeowner will spend more money out of pocket maintaining or replacing more frequently than with architectural shingles.

Because architectural shingles are multiple layers, this creates a depth variation in appearance and aesthetically pleasing look once installed.  The enhanced longevity of architectural shingles help eases client’s minds when considering the cost of a roof replacement.  Replacing your roof with architectural shingles also has the potential to increase your home value by adding curb appeal and peace of mind for future homeowners.

Another feature accompanied with architectural shingles is technology infused products.  With PABCO Premier architectural shingles, they include fire resistant technology, Algea Defender® protection, and many color options.   They are warrantied for up to 130mph high winds and offer a manufacturers warranty.  8 Stars Inc. uses PABCO Premier Shingles on all shingle roof replacements because we trust the product and want to provide the best long-term value for our clients.
